COURSES FOR TEACHERS AND TEACHERS’ AIDES OF LEARNERS WITH HEARING LOSS

Kelston Deaf Education Centre in partnership with the Advisors on Deaf Children (MoE Special Education) encourage all educational professionals working with learners who have a hearing loss to register for this course in Term 1, 2019.

This course will give you an understanding of basic audiology, support services for Deaf and hard of hearing learners, communication and classroom management, listening technology and an awareness of challenges to a Deaf learner's language development.

WORKING WITH LEARNERS WHO USE NZSL: A COURSE FOR PARENTS, TEACHERS, AND TEACHERS' AIDES

This course is designed to give you an understanding of Deaf culture, the difference between NZSL and English, communication and classroom strategies, inclusive practices and an awareness of what is key to a Deaf learner’s language development.
