Kelston Deaf Education Centre in partnership with the Advisors on Deaf Children (MoE Special Education) encourage all educational professionals working with students who have a hearing loss to register for this course in Term 1, 2018.
This course will give you an understanding of basic audiology, support services for Deaf and hard of hearing students, communication and classroom management, listening technology and an awareness of challenges to a Deaf student's language development.

Terms and Conditions
This course is designed to give you an understanding of support services for Deaf students, Deaf culture and behaviours, communication and classroom management, the difference between NZSL and English and an awareness of challenges to a Deaf student’s language development.
The course will run from 9.00am—3.00pm. Light lunch and morning tea provided. If you have severe food allergies, please provide your own lunch as we are unable to guarantee the elimination of some ingredients. In order for us to prepare course materials, activities and meals we would appreciate your registration in no later than one week before the date of the course.
Please note: Parents, Teachers and Teachers’ Aides attend the first day. The second day of the course is for Teachers and Teachers’ Aides only.
