Ruamoko is the unborn child of Ranginui (Sky Father) and Papatuanuku (Mother Earth). Ruamoko therefore is the God of Earthquakes. This is how Maori Deaf feel, that they are unborn into the world of Maori.



Ruamoko is repesented here as sending vibration though the ground or floor.The vibrations are what we feel and is used to get our attention.This is a strong part of culture "takahia to waewae" (stamp your feet) and "hurihia o ringaringa" (move your hands).
